What does APLPAY mean on a bank statement?

APLPAY means you paid with Apple Pay on your phone or watch. Apple Pay is only the wallet: the name after it is the business you paid, and the charge lands on the card you keep in it.

How it looks on a statement

  • AplPay HARBOR COFFEE: A coffee shop, paid by phone.
  • AplPay METRO TRANSIT: A transit fare.
  • AplPay SQ *MAPLE BARBERS: A barbershop's Square reader, paid by phone.

What it is

A purchase you paid with Apple Pay. APPLE PAY is the same.

How Even Margin handles it

Even Margin sets the wallet aside and reads the business named after it.

Is APLPAY the same as APPLE.COM/BILL?

No. APLPAY is a purchase you paid with Apple Pay at another business. APPLE.COM/BILL is Apple charging you for App Store or iCloud purchases, and Apple.com/Bill has its own page.

Why does one line say both APLPAY and SQ *?

You paid with Apple Pay at a shop's Square reader, so the line carries both. Even Margin sets the wallet aside, then reads the shop after the star.
