What Can Claude Access Through Connectors? A Guide for Small Business Owners

Claude reaches only the apps you connect, and only what your own account in each one can see. How access works, how to control it, and what to check first.

In 20 seconds

  • Only the apps you connect, and only what your account in each can see.
  • Manage them in Claude under Customize, then Connectors.
  • For your books, pick a connector that waits for your yes.

How access works

Anthropic's help center says Claude inherits your permissions from each connected service.

  • You sign in to each app and approve what it asks for.
  • On a Team plan, each person signs in for themselves.
  • You switch connectors on or off in each chat.
  • Team owners can make each tool always allowed, needing approval, or blocked.

Where to manage them

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, to add, review or disconnect one. Every plan can add custom connectors, and Free allows one. Anthropic does not verify custom connectors, so add one only from a company you trust.

Five questions before you connect your books

  • Does each person sign in as themselves?
  • Can you choose read only?
  • Does every change show you the exact records and wait for your yes?
  • Is every change in a history you can read later?
  • Can you revoke it yourself, any time?

What Even Margin's connector reaches

  • Reaches: Your transactions with the reason for each category, reports, review list and rules, within your role.
  • Stays out of reach: Bank logins, billing and your team. Every change waits for your click.
